Freddie Moir, is a student in the School of Computer Science here at the University of Nottingham and has been working with us on the Cheerbot project.
Freddie has been developing functionality for activities the robot can conduct that are fun and can boost morale in the workplace. Based on project workshops carried out earlier this year, focus has been on activities that are not personalised and therefore do not require the robot to collect or store personal data about the people it is interacting with. We are focusing on activities that bring people together with other people, rather than solely with the robot, for instance, Cheerbot can facilitate a communal collage to be created by a group of co workers together.
We are aiming to take this work forward into one of the Horizon Welfare Campaign projects shortly, so watch this space!
