Emerging and Enabling Technologies Competition Round 3 announced

Innovate UK invites applications for its emerging and enabling technologies competition – round 3. Funding aims to identify and invest in new technologies and the underpinning capabilities that improve existing industries by inspiring the products, processes and services of tomorrow. The priority areas are:

•emerging technologies;

•digital;

•enabling capabilities;

•space applications.

UK-based businesses or research and technology organisations working as a lead applicant, involving at least one SME may apply. Projects must be carried out in the UK and be intended to exploit the results in the UK.

The total budget is worth £15 million. Projects should last between six months and three years and are expected to range in total costs between £35,000 and £2m. Small businesses may receive up to 70 per cent of their eligible project costs, medium-sized businesses may receive 60 per cent and large businesses may receive 50 per cent for technical feasibility studies and industrial research. Small businesses may receive up to 45 per cent of their eligible project costs, medium-sized businesses may receive 35 per cent and large businesses may receive 25 per cent for experimental development projects which are nearer to market.
