Horizon CDT Alumna Dr. Elizabeth Dolan Driving Innovation in Ovarian Cancer Detection

We are proud to highlight the impactful work of Horizon CDT alumna Dr. Elizabeth Dolan (2019 cohort) who is making strides in women’s health research through the power of artificial intelligence. Now a Research Fellow in Health Data Science at the University of Nottingham, Lizzie explores how everyday shopping data could provide early clues about health conditions—including ovarian cancer.

As part of her ongoing efforts to improve early detection and health monitoring, Elizabeth will be speaking at Ovacome’s Health and Wellbeing Day in Birmingham on Saturday, 15 February. This free event, hosted by the ovarian cancer support charity, welcomes anyone affected by ovarian cancer, along with their family and friends.

Lizie’s talk, “How Shopping Habits Could Help Detect Ovarian Cancer Earlier with AI”, will share how innovative data approaches could transform early detection and improve health awareness, particularly in women’s health.

We are thrilled to see Lizzie’s research making a real-world impact, showcasing how interdisciplinary innovation can lead to meaningful change.
