The role of social media and complex social networks with threats to security and defence

P. Grindrod and D. Sloggett have prepared a paper about this work for The All Hands Meeting. This work will also be presented, as a paper, at the IMA 2nd Conference on Mathematics in Defence on Journeys of Radicalisation. Also, the MATHs4CT (Counter Terrorism) meeting was held in January with participants from GOScience, DSTL, RCUK Global Uncertainty programme, EPSRC, as well as mathematicians from Los Alamos and Florida, and from the following UK universities: Reading, Warwick, Bath, Imperial College, Queen Mary, Strathclyde and Nottingham. A report from this meeting was written up in the Mathematics Today magazine, which is published by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA).
