We are delighted to welcome Peter Craigon to Horizon. Peter is a multidisciplinary researcher with a background that includes History, Animal Behaviour (particularly dogs and guide dogs), Science and Technology Studies, Food, Research Ethics and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). He has a long standing connection with Horizon, completing his PhD with the Horizon Centre for Doctoral Training, looking at how social maps produce knowledge of place. Recently he has focused on ethics and RRI, developing tools and approaches to help stakeholders engage with issues of ethics and responsibility. This began with the Moral-IT cards developed in a previous role at Horizon (with Dr Lachlan Urquhart) and has continued through the last three years when he was a Research Fellow in Ethics, Legislation and Engagement at the Future Food Beacon, University of Nottingham. In this role he developed card-based tools focusing on Research Ethics, Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and approaches to ethics and RRI through collaborating on HoRRIzon and other projects.
